Investment Potential

LEGO Set 71755 is from the ever popular NINJAGO theme, this is a theme that has strong growth across multiple themes which has to always be taken into consideration. This was launched with a RRP of £105 but its value is lower, this due to plenty of discounting to date. Will it be a set to invest

in now with discount? Let’s dive into the data as we are pretty optimistic about this sub theme with strong projected growth potential.

5th Year Value $122

Theme Analysis

We have always been an admirer of the LEGO NINJAGO theme, the short shelf life and strong projected annualised growth offer solid foundations. We looked at the below LEGO sets to show the typical returns from this theme. We can see amazing growth in value with set 2507 LEGO Fire Temple, which saw 123% total growth and 8% annualised growth. Additionally, 70596 LEGO Samurai X Cave Chaos had 158% total growth and 18% annualised growth within a much shorter period of time. Set 70738 Final Flight of Destiny's Bounty had a total growth of 56% and 7% annualised growth, whilst 70678 Castle of the Forsaken Emperor had 50% total growth and 16% annualised growth. All four sets have seen worthwhile returns for their respective investments and provide an example of how LEGO NINJAGO sets can offer great value over time.

Set Number Set Name Retired Date RRP Current Value Total Growth Annualised Growth
2507 Fire Temple 31/12/2012 $120 $332 177% 9%
70596 Samurai X Cave Chaos 31/12/2017 $120 $256 113% 12%
70678 Castle of the Forsaken Emperor 31/12/2020 $100 $218 118% 23%
70738 Final Flight of Destiny's Bounty 31/12/2016 $120 $262 118% 11%

Comparable Set Analysis

When we look at comparable sets, we need to make note that there are no retired sets in the Crystallized sub theme. When we look at Mech sets, performance has a higher variance, with some

amazing and some poor but it averages out in line with NINJAGO theme. The 70725 Nindroid Mech Dragon was released in March 2015 and has a current value of £110, representing an impressive 57% total growth since its release date. This translates to an annualised growth rate of 5%. The 70676 Lloyd's Titan Mech set was released in December 2020 and its current value is £116, representing a 78% total growth and an impressive 24% annualised growth rate. The 71720 Fire Stone Mech set released in December 2021 has depreciated by 5% since release and has an annualised growth rate of -3%. Finally, the 70737 Titan Mech Battle set was released in December 2016 and has experienced the highest growth of all four sets with a total growth of 363% and an annualised rate of 26%.

Set Number Set Name Retired Date RRP Current Value Total Growth Annualised Growth
70676 Lloyd's Titan Mech 31/12/2020 $80 $190 138% 26%
70725 Nindroid MechDragon 20/03/2015 $90 $156 73% 6%
70737 Titan Mech Battle 31/12/2016 $60 $179 198% 15%
71720 Fire Stone Mech 31/12/2021 $70 $79 13% 4%

Conclusion

Plenty of reasons to like LEGO 71755 but without any retired sub theme data and some high variance when analysing Mech Sets this is definitely more of a gamble if you are to invest in too much volume, but regardless, it’s definitely an invest with a projected annual growth of 10%.
