LEGO Star Wars has become a sensation among fans of both the LEGO and Star Wars franchises, and its popularity shows no sign of slowing down. Perhaps it's the perfect marriage of two beloved classics, or maybe it's the endless possibilities for creativity and imagination that each set provides. One of the standout pieces from the collection is the LEGO Dagobah Jedi Training Diorama. The set features iconic characters like Yoda and Luke Skywalker in the swamps of Dagobah LEGO, where they train together and prepare for the ultimate showdown with the dark side. Fans can recreate their favourite scenes from the movies or invent their own stories with these miniature figures and detailed settings. LEGO Star Wars encourages not only play, but also storytelling and problem solving. It's no wonder that it has become such a beloved brand for both children and adults alike.

With no sets having retired as yet it is far harder for us to assess the likely performance post-retirement of these sets, but we do have the strength of the overall Star Wars LEGO theme and an added current bonus of this set being Amazon’s Deal of the Day, reduced by 24% to £60.69!

Theme Analysis
Star Wars is one of the more popular LEGO themes for investment with so many successful sets over such a long period of time providing a solid track record for future investments, delivery annualised growth of 12% across nearly 600 retired sets over more than 2 decades!
We have looked at some of the retired sets with the same RRP as LEGO 75330.
LEGO Star Wars Yoda (7194) is now valued at 5 times its £80 RRP when it retired 20 years ago, providing annualised growth of 9% whilst LEGO Imperial Star Destroyer (6211) is worth more than 4 times its RRP since retiring in 2008 (annualised growth of 10%).

Comparable Set Analysis
The Licensed sub-theme within Icons is a relatively new one with no track history of retired sets as yet and there being no direct comparators for LEGO Optimus Prime. For us we would prefer to look at sets from the established successful sub-themes such as the modular buildings or fairground but that’s not to say this won’t be a successful set.
Set Number | Set Name | Retired Date | RRP | Current Value | Total Growth | Annualised Growth |
75339 | Death Star Trash Compactor Diorama | 31/12/2023 | $90 | $100 | 11% | 16% |
75353 | Endor Speeder Chase Diorama | 31/12/2024 | $80 | N/A | 0% | N/A |
Conclusion
It’s a Star Wars LEGO set, so the inclination is to recommend this as an investment based just on the strength of the theme. The small concern here is we have no direct comparable sets with none of the 5 sets in the sub theme having retired yet. We would find ourselves sitting on the fence a little and think it may be better to wait and see if the set is discounted (Snap up Amazon’s Deal of the Day) ahead of its retirement (which could still be a couple of years away), that’s not to say this won’t prove to be an excellent investment in the long term.
